What is a soot filter and why remove it?
A soot filter (DPF, FAP) is an element of a diesel vehicle’s exhaust system that reduces harmful emissions. However, over time the filter becomes clogged, leading to reduced engine power, increased fuel consumption and error messages on the dashboard.Signs of soot filter problems:
- Loss of engine power;
- Increased fuel consumption;
- Frequent DPF regenerations;
- Diagnostic scanner errors (P2002, P2452, P242F etc.).
